Donal Nolan is a Professor of Private Law at the University of Oxford and holds fellowships at Worcester College, Oxford, and the Melbourne Law School (University of Melbourne). He specializes in tort law, focusing on negligence, private nuisance, and the intersection of tort law with public law. His academic career includes teaching tort, contract, commercial law, international trade law, restitution, and related subjects.
His research contributions include seminal works such as Questions of Liability: Essays on the Law of Tort (2023) and co-authored texts like Winfield & Jolowicz on Tort (2020). He is a founding member of the World Tort Law Society and an elected member of the American Law Institute.
