Dr. Dionysius Ang is an Associate Professor in Marketing at the Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds. He holds a PhD in Business Economics (Marketing) from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, an MSc in Management from INSEAD, a Research Masters in Social and Behavioural Sciences from Tilburg University, and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology & OBHR from Singapore Management University. His research focuses on consumer behaviour, particularly affect and decision-making, with three core themes: payment methods (e.g., buy-now-pay-later), returns/cancellations, and choice architecture. He collaborates with the clothing industry to design solutions balancing customer satisfaction and sales growth.
Dr. Ang teaches LUBS5449M Digital & Interactive Marketing and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. He is the Research Ethics Lead at his faculty and serves as a Library Representative. His professional affiliations include the American Marketing Association, Association for Consumer Research, and Society for Consumer Psychology. His work appears in top journals like the Journal of Marketing and Journal of Applied Psychology, with conference presentations at the Association of Consumer Research and Society for Judgment and Decision-Making.
Research interests span consumer psychology, digital marketing, affective decision-making, and financial behavior. His articles explore topics like feedback mechanisms, payment innovations, and cross-cultural consumer trust. He contributes to the Global and Strategic Marketing Research Centre, advancing transformative consumer research and industry partnerships.
