Delia Neil serves as Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Dance within the Department of Dance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's College of Arts and Architecture. A Professional Choreographer and Master Teacher of Ballet with certified Pilates instruction expertise, her career spans academic leadership, performance, and cross-disciplinary artistic collaboration.
Her educational foundation includes:
- B.A. in Dance from Butler University
- MFA in Dance from UNC Greensboro
Neil's creative research manifests through choreographic works spanning concert stage, musical theatre, dramatic productions, and classical ballet repertoire. She pioneered 'movement for the dramatic text' applications presented at national theatre conferences, with signature museum collaborations including the North Carolina Museum of Art where she created site-specific performances for major exhibitions like Frida Kahlo's works (2019), Golden Mummies of Egypt (2021), Alphonse Mucha (2021), and the Phillips Collection (2022). Her practice uniquely bridges dance, visual arts, and theatrical storytelling through sustained partnerships with institutions like The Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
