Dr. Debra S. Egolf is the Erwin Professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Faculty at Marietta College, where she has served for over 30 years. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University (1988) and a BS in Chemistry/Mathematics from Lebanon Valley College (1983).
Her research focuses on chemical energetics, energy transfer/storage methods, structure-property relationships in biological systems, and environmental analytical testing (collaborating with Dr. Jim Jeitler). She teaches Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Chemistry Capstone courses.
Dr. Egolf has held key administrative roles including Director of the Worthington Center for Teaching Excellence, Chair of the Curriculum Committee, and member of General Education Task Forces. In 2024-25, she serves as Chair of Faculty Council and Chair of the Faculty.
