Jim Jeitler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Marietta College since 2007. His research focuses on magnetic interactions in metal complexes, synthesis of photochemotherapy agents, and environmental applications like oilfield brine waste purification. He teaches courses including General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Quantitative Analysis.
- Education: Ph.D. in Magneto Chemistry (Clark University, 1998), MA Chemistry (Clark University, 1996), BS Chemistry (SUNY-Buffalo, 1992)
Research interests bridge fundamental inorganic chemistry with applied environmental solutions. His notable publication explores azide ion stability in metal complexes, contributing to pedagogical resources for inorganic chemistry education. Active in curriculum development through platforms like the Virtual Inorganic Pedagogical Electronic Resource (ionicviper.org).
