Dr. Kevin Pate is a tenured Professor of Chemistry at Marietta College since 2006, holding the prestigious McCoy Professorship (2006 and 2018), the institution’s highest teaching honor. He joined the faculty in 2001 after post-doctoral work at Kansas State University. His teaching focuses on Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Capstone courses, employing innovative methods like flipped classrooms and guided-inquiry labs. He developed over 70 instructional videos during a 2015 sabbatical for Organic Chemistry courses.
- Research: Collaborates on synthesizing organic molecules for biochemistry and inorganic chemistry projects, mentoring students who presented at national ACS meetings (2015–2017).
- Leadership: Served as Chair of the Chemistry Department (2008–2013) and later as Chair of the expanded Chemistry and Biochemistry Department (2017–present).曾担任Faculty Council主席（2009年）。
