Dawn Field

Dawn Field, MSIS, AHIP, is the Medical Informatics Librarian at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Medicine (UIWSOM). With over 18 years of experience in medical librarianship and a background in biomedical science, she supports students, faculty, and staff in research, evidence-based practice, and information literacy. Her career spans collaborations across disciplines including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and biomedical sciences.

Education:

• M.S. in Information Sciences (Medical Information concentration), University of North Texas (2007)
• B.S. in Biomedical Science, Texas A&M University (1983)

Dawn has worked extensively in health sciences education, including seven years supporting research in infectious diseases, virology, and genetics. She is recognized for her contributions to advancing information access within medical curricula and fostering student success through lifelong learning initiatives.
