David Natcher is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Saskatchewan and holds the UArctic Chair in Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) Security in the Arctic. His research examines the social dimensions of WEF insecurity in Arctic regions, with a focus on Indigenous and remote communities.
- UArctic Thematic Lead in Northern Food Security (since 2016)
- Canadian Representative, International Arctic Science Committee – Social and Human Working Group
- Member, Arctic Council’s Social, Economic, and Cultural Expert Group (SECEG)
He investigates interactions between WEF-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2, 6, 7) in Arctic contexts, emphasizing environmental and cultural challenges.
