David Natcher is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Saskatchewan. His research focuses on cultural and economic anthropology, particularly Indigenous subsistence economies, Arctic sustainable development, and human ecology. He holds positions as a University of the Arctic Research Chair in Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) Security in the Arctic, and represents Canada in Arctic Council and international committees.

Research emphasizes Indigenous food systems, resource management, and the impacts of extractive industries on Arctic communities.
