David Aikman is Professor of Finance (Practice) and Director of the Qatar Centre for Global Banking & Finance at King’s Business School, King’s College London. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick. His research focuses on macroprudential policy, financial stability, and central bank operations, with significant contributions to stress testing methodologies and systemic risk analysis. Prior to academia, he spent 17 years at the Bank of England, leading macroprudential initiatives. He co-edits the blog Macroprudential Matters and is involved in international regulatory panels.
