Dana Nowlin-Russell

Dana Nowlin-Russell is a Teaching Associate Professor and Director of the Public and Professional Writing (PPW) Program at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of English, affiliated with the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. She also serves as Writing Center Associate Director and collaborates with institutions like CEC Hill District and Remake Learning.

Education: MFA in Creative Writing (Nonfiction/Children’s Writing) from Chatham University; BA in Sociology (with Religious Studies minor) and PPW certificate from University of Pittsburgh.

Research interests focus on professional communication, grant writing for nonprofits and research, and addressing barriers like anxiety in academic writing.
