Jonathan Callard is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh, affiliated with the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. He specializes in creative nonfiction writing and composition pedagogy, with a focus on community engagement and storytelling. Recognized as "Most Valuable Professor" for mentoring student athletes, he also teaches at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and mentors writers individually.
Education: MFA in nonfiction writing and a certificate in composition, literacy, pedagogy, and rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh.
Research Interests: Jonathan’s work explores themes of community, identity, and resilience through narrative nonfiction. His writing has appeared in Prairie Schooner, PublicSource, Gulf Coast, and others. He emphasizes bridging gaps between academic and public audiences via accessible storytelling.
