Mark Kramer is a Teaching Professor in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh's Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. His work emphasizes creative nonfiction, experiential learning, and civic engagement. Affiliations include CEC Hill District, Homewood CEC, PittServes, and the Global Experiences Office. He teaches courses like 'Writing for Change' and 'Service Learning on the Pine Ridge Reservation.'
Education: BA in Fiction (undergraduate), MA in Journalism from University of Wisconsin–Madison, MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Pitt. Currently training as a Master Naturalist. Research focuses on urban nature, empathy, race, and social justice.
