Craig B. Parker serves as Associate Professor of Music History in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Kansas State University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate music history courses while performing trumpet with the KSU Faculty Brass Quintet. His extensive professional background includes membership in the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, Spoleto Festival Orchestra (Italy), Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, and Composers Brass Quintet.
Dr. Parker's research centers on Asian American music traditions, Sousa's Band legacy, Igor Stravinsky's American period, and post-1945 American musical developments. With over 40 scholarly publications including articles, book chapters, and critical editions, his work bridges historical musicology and performance practice. His international scholarly impact is demonstrated through 110+ conference presentations, including recent keynotes at the 2024 International Society for Wind Music Research (Valencia) and 2025 College Music Society International Conference (Bogotá).
