Claudine Grisard is a Lecturer in Accounting at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management, and a member of the Department of Accounting and Financial Management. She previously held the same position at Strathclyde Business School and was a Post-doctoral Fellow at Schulich School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and a Master's in Sustainable Development from Paris-Dauphine University, with additional training in Political Sciences.
Her research focuses on the intersection of accounting and politics, examining how accounting tools act as instruments of power in shaping political agendas and public affairs. She analyzes the role of accounting metrics in controversies, policy debates, and ideological conflicts, particularly in contexts like CSR, poverty, and state programs. Methodologically, her work draws on sociological, anthropological, and historical approaches.
She co-directs the Accounting & Accountability Research Group (AARG) and is affiliated with the Centre on Labour and Global Production (CLGP) and the Centre for Research in Equality and Diversity (CRED). Her teaching includes courses on Social and Environmental Accounting and Contemporary Issues in Accounting and Ethics. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
