Christian Ayala is an Assistant Research Professor at Auburn University, affiliated with the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture within the College of Architecture, Design and Construction. He is part of the Front Porch Initiative (FPI) under Rural Studio, focusing on scalable, sustainable, and resilient housing solutions for under-resourced rural communities. His research emphasizes innovative construction methods, materials like mass timber and alternative concrete, and off-site construction techniques to enhance affordability and performance.
