Margaret Fletcher is a Professor in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at Auburn University. She holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University. Her research focuses on visual representation of architectural ideas and pedagogy, complemented by extensive practice in graphic design and art. She has been recognized with prestigious awards including the 2017 Auburn University Author Award and the 2013 Hambidge Center Fellowship.
Her creative work includes solo exhibitions, such as OCUS 11 ante litteram at Sandler Hudson Gallery, and collaborations with Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects, which earned multiple American Institute of Architects (AIA) Awards. She has authored two influential books: Constructing the Persuasive Portfolio (2016) and Visual Communication for Architects and Designers (2020), and frequently delivers portfolio workshops internationally.
Fletcher’s leadership roles include serving as a Fellow at the Hambidge Center and contributing to interdisciplinary projects like the Rural Studio Style Guide. Her teaching spans Auburn’s Fourth Year Architecture Program, where she emphasizes innovative pedagogical approaches.
