David Hinson is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in Auburn University's College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC), holding the Daniel Professorship. He has been a faculty member since 1997, teaching design studios and courses on professional practice, building technologies, and leadership. His research focuses on affordable housing innovation, energy-efficient design, and partnerships with non-profits like Habitat for Humanity. He co-authored Designed for Habitat (2012, 2023), a seminal work on collaborative housing solutions. His accolades include the ACSA Distinguished Professor Award (2022) and AIA College of Fellows (2008).
