Justin Miller is the Head of the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) and a Professor of Architecture at Auburn University. He holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Architecture and Interior Architecture from Auburn University. As a registered architect in Massachusetts and Alabama, he specializes in design, research, and technology.
His research focuses on
- Aging-in-Place strategies for disabilities
- Design innovations in affordable housing
- Community-driven architectural solutions
Recent recognitions include the 2024 Auburn Author Award for academic contributions. Miller has taught for 17 years across APLA programs, leading collaborative projects on aging-in-place and affordable housing design. His work integrates technology and human-centered design principles.
He oversees APLA’s academic programs and facilities, including the recently renovated McRae Gallery in Dudley Hall. His leadership emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration within the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC).
