Rebecca O’Neal is a Professor of Architecture at Auburn University's School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (part of the College of Architecture, Design and Construction). She holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Interior Design from Auburn University. Her research focuses on architecture theory, pedagogy, and interior architecture, with recent teaching emphases on design studios, drawing, and seminars like 'Inside the Avant-Garde HOUSE' and 'Un-earthing Eisenman.'
Prior roles include Associate Dean for Research and Academic Affairs (2006–2013), Interim Dean of CADC (2012), and ARIA Program Chair (2002–2007). She was the first APLA faculty member elected President-Elect of the NAAB.
Her scholarly achievements include a prestigious Graham Foundation Grant for research on Samuel Mockbee. She has contributed to initiatives such as AUdapting Architecture Summer Camp and oversees ARIA thesis work in interior architecture.
