Chris Coletti is an Associate Professor of Music Performance at Ithaca College, where he is affiliated with the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. He serves as the director of the Ithaca College Contemporary Ensemble and has also led the IC Gamer Symphony, Trumpet Ensemble, and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.
His primary research and performance interests lie in trumpet performance, brass performance, contemporary music, early music (including Baroque trumpet), orchestral conducting, and arranging. Coletti is internationally recognized as a soloist, principal trumpet with top orchestras, and former member of the Canadian Brass.
Coletti has mentored numerous students who have won positions in professional military bands and orchestras, gained admission to elite graduate programs (Juilliard, Yale, NEC, MSM), completed PhDs at institutions like Florida State University and the University of Connecticut, and now serve as professors across the United States.
He actively directs performance ensembles including the Contemporary Ensemble and IC Gamer Symphony at Ithaca College, and maintains principal trumpet roles with ROCO (Houston) and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra while frequently performing as guest principal with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
