Chris Bloom

Chris Bloom is a Faculty Lecturer in Music at Colorado State University, specializing in tuba performance and pedagogy. He serves as principal tubist of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Tallahassee Symphony and other ensembles. A founding member of the Honseo Tuba Euphonium Quartet and Capital City Brass Quintet, he has also collaborated with numerous brass ensembles.

Education includes degrees from Florida State University, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Pennsylvania State University under mentors Dr. Matthew Hightower, Dr. Justin Benavidez, Craig Knox, and Velvet Brown.

Research interests focus on advanced tuba performance techniques, pedagogical methodologies, and ensemble coordination. His competitive achievements highlight expertise in orchestral auditions and solo performance.
