Chiara Pappalardo is a Research Fellow in Archaeology and History of Art of the Ancient Near East (L-OR/05) at the University of Catania since March 2023. Funded by the PRIN 2020 project "Godscapes: Modeling II Millennium BCE Polytheisms in the Eastern Mediterranean" (scientific director: Nicola Laneri), her work focuses on semantic analysis of material data (funerary, architectural, iconographic, and textual) related to Levantine religiosity during the second millennium BCE.

Her research explores the intersection of material culture, landscape, and cognitive dimensions of Bronze Age communities in the Near East. She collaborates with international archaeological missions in Azerbaijan (GaRKAP) and Iraq (BUAP, ArTourBagh), and curates the virtual archaeological museum V-KAP since 2020. She also contributes to teaching Archaeology and History of Art of the Ancient Near East as a teaching assistant.
