Dr. Chen Yueh-Ching is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, and held a visiting fellowship at the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan (ERCCT) at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen from November 22 to December 23, 2016. Her research focuses on comparative parliaments, parliamentary oversight mechanisms, and semi-presidential systems, with a particular emphasis on institutional comparisons between Taiwan, France, and Romania. She has co-authored influential works on legislative oversight in foreign affairs and contributed to Semi-presidentialism across Continent: A Dialogue between Asia and Europe.
Her academic career includes a PhD from National Sun Yat-sen University and a research stay at Sciences Po, Paris, supported by a National Science Council scholarship. Her work bridges constitutional studies with empirical investigations into legislative behavior, emphasizing cross-national comparisons in democratic governance structures.
Key research themes include parliamentary oversight powers, legislative-executive relations under semi-presidentialism, and institutional adaptation in transitional democracies.
