Dr. Tseng Yi-tsui is a Research Fellow affiliated with the Institute of Political Science at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. She held a visiting fellowship at the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan, Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, from July 6–29, 2017. She earned her PhD in International Studies from the University of Denver in 2015.
Her research focuses on ideational constructs in international politics, including the intellectual struggles of Japanese modernity and the modernization motif in China and India's environmental political economy. She employs discursive institutionalist approaches to analyze the co-evolution of natural constraints, state institutions, and sustainable development ideas in these nations.
Her work bridges historical and contemporary analyses, with recent projects examining China's climate policy and the geopolitical implications of its Maritime Silk Road initiative. She has published in Mandarin and international conference proceedings, addressing themes of modernity, environmental governance, and comparative political theory.
