Cecilia Kim is an Assistant Professor of Film Production at the University of Notre Dame's Department of Film, Television, and Theatre. She holds concurrent faculty status in Art, Art History, and Design, and is a fellow at the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, the Nanovic Institute, and the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society. Her work bridges video art with academic research, focusing on transnational identity, women's labor, and East Asian cinema.
Kim earned her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her research explores invisible labor spaces and mechanized cultural production, using nonfiction narratives to connect personal and collective memory.
