Cathy Stanton is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at Tufts University, Boston. She teaches courses on ethnographic methods, food systems, myth and ritual, and cities. Her research focuses on industrial heritage sites and community food systems, with notable publications including her 2006 book The Lowell Experiment: Public History in a Postindustrial City (winner of the 2007 National Council on Public History Book Award) and a 2018 co-authored work on public history and the food movement. Stanton is actively involved in community initiatives, particularly in western Massachusetts.
