Cassandra Jacobson Russo is a DPhil candidate in Law at the University of Oxford, supervised by Professor Dorota Leczykiewicz. She holds a Stipendiary Lectureship at St Peter’s College and has taught European Union Law at five Oxford colleges: St Peter’s, Merton, Queen’s, Trinity, and Wadham. Her academic career is supported by funding from the Oxford Faculty of Law.
Education: She earned a combined Bachelor and Master’s degree in Law from Bocconi University (Milan) and a Master in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford. Professionally, she is a qualified Italian lawyer, with prior roles as an Associate in Corporate Law at a leading Italian law firm and as a legal advisor at the European Central Bank’s Banking Supervision and Legal Services Directorates (2016–2022).
Research focuses on legal reasoning, institutional communication, and preservation of legal certainty within the EU legal framework. Methodologically, she integrates legal theory with case law analysis. Her interests span European Union Law, Constitutional Law, and Legal Theory.
