Dorota Leczykiewicz is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Oxford and an Official Fellow in Law at St Peter's College. She holds a DPhil in comparative tort law from Oxford and has held prestigious fellowships including the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship and a Marie Curie Fellowship. Her research focuses on judicial reasoning, comparative tort law, EU constitutional law, and EU tort law. She has co-edited influential volumes such as The Internal Market Ideal (2024) and Comparative Reflections in Private Law (forthcoming).
At Oxford, she lectures in EU law, tort law, and comparative law, while teaching tutorials at St Peter's College. She has served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies (2021–2024) and supervises doctoral students in EU, comparative, and private law. Her work bridges legal theory and practice, addressing topics like the horizontal application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the evolution of EU private law frameworks.
Her publications span over 20 years, reflecting expertise in EU legal harmonization, liability regimes, and fundamental rights. Key themes include the intersection between EU and national law, judicial adaptation to digital challenges, and the constitutional dimensions of private law liability. She contributes to academic networks such as the Roman Law Private Law Research Group and Public Law in Oxford.
