Professor Caroline Daly is the Director of the Centre for Teachers and Teaching Research (CTTR) at UCL's IOE. Her academic roles include Professor of Teacher Education, focusing on professional learning environments for teachers, mentorship practices, and systemic challenges in education. She has held leadership roles in large-scale teacher development programs in England and Wales, emphasizing the integration of research into practice.
Her research explores how schools' networks and routines influence teacher learning, advocating for 'educative mentoring' to enhance new teachers' professional growth. She has developed innovative programs enabling Early Career Teachers to pursue Master's degrees, linking scholarly foundations to classroom practice.
Caroline Daly’s career began at IOE as a PGCE student, followed by a decade in secondary teaching, and later advanced degrees at IOE. She is an Honorary Visiting Professor at Cardiff University and a Fellow of the International Professional Development Association. Her work prioritizes social justice in education, aiming to elevate teacher voices and improve professional development.
