Carmen Axisa

Dr. Carmen Axisa is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director of Postgraduate Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney (2021), focusing on physician mental health and wellbeing. Her academic career includes roles as Associate Lecturer (2014–2017) and Lecturer (2017–2022) at UTS before her current senior position. She previously served as a Medical Education Officer at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (2010–2013), leading educational programs for physicians.

Her clinical expertise includes cardiopulmonary transplantation and ventricular assist devices (LVADs), with a focus on improving patient care through technology and education.
