Dr Jennifer Rebecca Snaith is a Research Fellow and Endocrinologist based at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales and specializes in clinical research related to type 1 diabetes, with a career mission focused on improving the lives of people living with this condition through clinical service, advocacy, and innovative research.

Dr Snaith's research focuses on diabetes, endocrinology, metabolism, insulin resistance, and cardiometabolic risk in type 1 diabetes patients. She established the Diabetes in Youth (DIY) service in 2021 with her team (Marhava/Lum/Higgins) at St Vincent's Hospital and conducts clinical trials as part of the Australian Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Adjuncts Group (AUSTAG), which she co-founded with Prof Jerry Greenfield.
Her work encompasses several significant clinical trials including the INTIMET study examining insulin resistance in type 1 diabetes managed with metformin, the RESET1 study investigating semaglutide's impact on cardiovascular risk, and the TIRTLE study evaluating tirzepatide's effects in type 1 diabetes (due for completion December 2024).
Dr Snaith has received numerous scientific awards and recognitions:

Her research aims to prevent cardiovascular disease in type 1 diabetes through novel repurposing of cardioprotective medications.
