Keele Universityمعرفی
Bulent Gökay is a Professor of International Relations at Keele University, with a career spanning over three decades. He joined Keele in 1996 after serving as a Research Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge (1993-1996) and teaching at Birkbeck College-London, University of North London, and University of Cambridge. His research focuses on two interrelated strands: the political and social history of post-WW1 settlements and contemporary political-economy analysis of resource competition in Eurasia, using the geological metaphor 'global faultlines' to describe points of fracture linked to financial crises, industrial decline, and resource depletion.
He is the Chair of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies (Taylor and Francis) and Founding Editor of the Journal of Global Faultlines (Pluto Journals). His publications include books such as Turkey in Global Economy (2023) and Human Costs of War (2024), co-authored with Lily Hamourtziadou. His work explores themes like the politics of oil, American imperialism, and the socio-economic impacts of war.
