Luca Andriani is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management, Birkbeck Business School, University of London, since 2011. He co-directs the Centre for Political Economy and Institutional Studies and leads the Business School Research Theme on Governance, Organisations, and Society.

His research focuses on the Political Economy of Informal Institutions, with particular emphasis on social capital, trust, corruption, and tax morale. He explores how cognitive aspects influence attitudes toward corruption and tax evasion, and the interplay between informal institutions and socio-economic inequality. His work appears in journals like Cambridge Journal of Economics, Kyklos, and Journal of Institutional Economics, with recent trends analyzing transition economies and cultural contexts in tax behavior.
