معرفی
Bruno Bureau is a Professor at the University of Rennes, focusing on materials science with an emphasis on optical devices and glass chemistry. His career spans roles in teaching, research leadership, and administrative service, including overseeing the Master's chemistry programs and leading the Infrared Sensing Group at the Glasses and Ceramics Laboratory.
- Ph.D. in local order investigations in fluoride glasses via multinuclear solid-state NMR (University du Maine, 1998)
- Accreditation to supervise research on non-conventional glasses (University of Rennes 1, 2003)
His research centers on developing glass/glass-ceramic optical devices for infrared sensing, creating tellurium-rich glasses with unique optical and semi-conductive properties, and studying glass formation mechanisms through thermomechanical-structural coupling (solid-state NMR) and theoretical calculations. He has published ~200 articles and supervised 20 Ph.D. students.
Scientific awards include the Technological Innovation Award at POLLUTEC-ADEME exhibitions, American Ceramic Society Kreidl award for advising Allison Wilhelm, Yvan Peychès award from the French Academy of Sciences, and IUF Junior membership. He also contributed to OSEO-funded industrial projects.
Teaching responsibilities include Solid State NMR, Solid State Chemistry (Bachelor/Master), and Glass Science at the Master's level. His leadership roles extended to the university's Scientific Board (Material Sciences sector, 2012-2016) and national academic councils (CNU 33 member since 2011).
