David Le Coq is a Full Professor at the University of Rennes 1 and the University Institute of Technology in Chemistry of Rennes, affiliated with the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (Department of Chemistry). He holds the position of Full Professor within the Glass and Ceramic Team. His professional journey includes a Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Rennes 1, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona (USA). He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Littoral Côte d’Opale (2003–2012) and later at the University of Rennes 1 (2012–2022). He obtained accreditation to supervise research in 2013 from the University of Rennes 1.
Research focuses on chalcogenide glasses, including their optical properties (e.g., infrared transmission, femtosecond laser interactions), structural analysis using large-scale facilities, and applications in solid-state batteries and optical fibers. His work bridges material synthesis, conductivity studies, and interdisciplinary applications.
Teaching responsibilities include inorganic chemistry tutorials at the Master’s level, 3rd-year solid-state chemistry, 2nd-year phase diagrams, and inorganic chemistry at the University Technical Institute of Chemistry. He also contributes to teaching at the University of South-East Nanjing (China).
Publications highlight advancements in battery materials, optical fibers, and glass structure analysis. His work spans energy storage, photonics, and fundamental material science.
