University of Minnesota Twin Citiesمعرفی
Brian Dingmann is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Crookston, affiliated with the Math, Science and Technology Department. His research focuses on understanding anthropogenic impacts on aquatic chemical communication systems and molecular evolution of mate recognition mechanisms in aquatic organisms. He has received notable awards including the 2017 Most Supportive of Students Award and 2016 Outstanding Community Service Award.
Education: B.S. in Biology from St. John's University (MN), Ph.D. in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology. His recent work includes studies on rotifer-specific biomolecules, antimicrobial drug discovery from wetland microorganisms, and internationalizing STEM curricula. He contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives in scholarship of teaching and learning, emphasizing global competency integration in environmental science and biology programs.
Research emphasizes aquatic organism communication systems, biofilm dynamics, and environmental toxicology. His publications span from molecular-level studies of rotifer pheromones to applied bioprospecting for novel antibiotics. Collaborative projects explore endocrine disruptor effects using rotifer models, reflecting his commitment to both basic and applied ecological research.
