Brenna Osborne is a Research Fellow in the Hoehn Lab at the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, UNSW. She holds a PhD from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research (2015), with prior roles including Assistant Professor (2018–2023) and Postdoc (2018–2020) at the University of Copenhagen’s Center for Healthy Ageing, and Research Associate (2015–2018) at UNSW’s School of Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on NAD+ metabolism in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and longevity, with a particular interest in mitochondrial dysfunction and aging-related pathophysiology.
Her awards include the 2025 CVMM Collaborative Grant (co-PI), 2019 Hartmann Fonden Grant, and 2016 Australian Diabetes Society Award. She has supervised Honours students and contributed to grants such as the NHMRC Dora Lush Scholarship. Brenna’s work spans metabolic diseases, aging mechanisms, and translational therapeutics, leveraging in vivo models and interdisciplinary collaborations.
