معرفی
Nikki Lee is a Lecturer at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Sydney, affiliated with the Charles Perkins Centre. She holds an NHMRC Research Fellowship and has expertise in neuroendocrinology and metabolic regulation.
Education: PhD in 2009 from UNSW Sydney, focusing on neuropeptide Y's role in bone mass regulation. Postdoctoral research at Garvan Institute identified osteoglycin as a bone-derived hormone influencing glucose metabolism.
Research focuses on neuropeptide signaling in metabolic processes, particularly energy balance, glucose homeostasis, and hormonal interactions between bone and insulin target tissues. Recent publications explore neuronal mechanisms controlling feeding and energy expenditure.
Awards include NHMRC grants (2018, 2020) and fellowships from ANZBMS and Diabetes Australia. Current grants include Charles Perkins Centre Bridge Funding (2024) and Faculty of Medicine and Health's Rewarding Research program (2023).
Advising and grants: Active grant leadership in metabolic research. Research conducted through multidisciplinary teams at the Charles Perkins Centre, focusing on translational medicine and metabolic disease mechanisms.
