Jacky Stoeckli

Dr Jacky Stoeckli is a Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and the Charles Perkins Centre. She obtained her PhD from the University of Basel in 2003, followed by postdoctoral training in David James' lab at the Garvan Institute. Her research focuses on insulin regulation of lipolysis, particularly mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders like insulin resistance and fatty liver disease. She has supervised multiple PhD and Honours students, contributing to over 30 publications since 2013. Current projects include investigating novel regulators of lipolysis and insulin signaling pathways.

Key grants include funding from Diabetes Australia and the Australian Research Council, focusing on metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance. Dr Stoeckli’s work aligns with interdisciplinary research strengths in metabolism, molecular biology, and disease mechanisms. Her lab explores lipid signaling, adipocyte biology, and the impact of genetic diversity on metabolic health, leveraging proteomics and mouse models to uncover therapeutic targets.
