Dr. Bethania Antunes is an Associate Professor (Education) in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She serves as Programme Director of the MSc Human Resources and Organisations. Her research focuses on sustainable human resource management, social impact of corporate responsibility, employer-supported volunteering programs, and gender equality in pay practices. Key areas include analyzing the consequences of volunteering programs on employees, organizations, and communities, supported by funding from the British Academy, European Commission, and Low Pay Commission.
Her teaching expertise spans human resource management and organizational behavior at the postgraduate level, integrating case studies and experiential learning. Prior to academia, she worked as a public relations consultant in the arts, nonprofits, and SME sectors, specializing in strategic communications. She volunteers with The Pankhurst Trust, coaching women leaders to advance social mobility and gender equality.
Dr. Antunes holds fellowships with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Higher Education Academy. She collaborates with organizations on research and training to promote social sustainability through HR practices. Her work bridges academic research with real-world challenges, emphasizing actionable insights for organizational decision-making.
