Ben Fox is a faculty member in the Department of Music at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from Boston University, a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory, a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics from Oberlin College. Dr. Fox serves as Principal Oboist of the Marsh Chapel Collegium, renowned for performances of Bach and Handel works broadcast globally. He is an active freelancer, performing with orchestras such as the Boston Philharmonic, Portland Symphony, and Vermont Symphony, as well as chamber groups like the Boston Zelenka Project and Callithumpian Consort. His activities span classical, contemporary, and collaborative performances across diverse venues, from Carnegie Hall to international locations. In addition to performance, he maintains teaching responsibilities at Boston College.
