Bee Macpherson is an Associate Professor in Clinical Education at the University of Leeds School of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Leeds Institute of Medical Education and leads the School of Medicine’s Athena SWAN initiative, driving systemic and cultural changes to promote gender equality. Her expertise focuses on medical education, particularly the pedagogy of menopause and inclusive educational practices.
With 35 years of combined NHS and higher education experience, she holds a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. Her research emphasizes pedagogy in menopause and equality advocacy. She currently supervises two DClinEd students and champions interdisciplinary collaboration across undergraduate and postgraduate medical training programs.
Under her leadership, the School of Medicine achieved an Athena SWAN Gold award, reflecting its commitment to fairness and inclusivity for all staff and students. Her vision prioritizes integrated healthcare education and research to advance public health outcomes.
