Beatrix Feigl is an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine and Faculty of Health at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She holds an MD from the Medical University of Graz, Austria, and a PhD from QUT. Her research focuses on melanopsin-expressing retinal ganglion cells and their role in eye diseases (e.g., macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes) and neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s. She employs morphological, pupillometric, and genetic techniques to study visual and non-visual (circadian and sleep) functions. Key awards include the Honorary Senior Scientist title at the Queensland Eye Institute (2011).
