Astrid Deuber-Mankowsky is Professor of Media Studies and Gender Studies at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. She holds visiting roles at Columbia University (2012, 2017), Northwestern University (2023), and other institutions. Her expertise spans critical theory, feminist and queer theory, media philosophy, and Jewish philosophy. She co-founded the journal Die Philosophin (1990-2004) and organized major conferences on epistemology and regional knowledge. Her research bridges media anthropology, play theory, and temporal studies.
