Carolin Bohlmann

Carolin Bohlmann is a Professor at the Institute for Conservation and Restoration of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, specializing in the materiality and conservation of modern and contemporary art. Her research spans interdisciplinary intersections of art history, media theory, and conservation science, with a focus on light concepts in painting, Joseph Beuys’ installations, and time-based media preservation.

Recent publications analyze material degradation, conservation ethics, and media-specific challenges in art preservation.
