معرفی
Dr. Anthony Pedley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Iowa. He leads the Pedley Research Group, which investigates the organization and regulation of metabolic enzymes in human cells. His work focuses on supramolecular protein assemblies (e.g., purinosomes), biomolecular condensates, and chaperone-mediated processes, with implications for metabolic diseases.
Education:
- BS in Chemistry, Grand Valley State University
- PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University
- Postdoctoral Scholar in Chemistry, The Pennsylvania State University
Research Interests: Dr. Pedley's lab explores: (1) Metabolon organization and dynamics using super-resolution microscopy; (2) Chaperone-mediated regulation of enzyme structure/function; and (3) Nutrient-induced degradation of metabolic enzymes. Key areas include cellular metabolism, protein allostery, and therapeutic targeting of condensates.
Grants & Collaborations: Actively funded projects include collaborations with Penn State researchers on purinosome stoichiometry. The lab leverages multidisciplinary approaches to decipher metabolic flux regulation.
Lab & Resources: The Pedley Research Group utilizes advanced biochemical and imaging facilities to study enzyme assemblies. Current projects emphasize metabolic adaptation in disease contexts.
