Stephen Benkovic

Stephen Benkovic is the Atherton Professor and Eberly Chair in Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University's Department of Chemistry within the Eberly College of Science. His research focuses on enzyme catalysis mechanisms, DNA replication processes (notably the T4 replisome), and the dynamic assembly of metabolic complexes like the purinosome. He has pioneered studies on conformational changes in enzymes, multi-enzyme coordination, and the role of metabolons in metabolic flux regulation.
