Anna Saunders is a Research Fellow at the University College London (UCL) Faculty of Laws, joining in 2021. She holds an LLM from Harvard Law School (as a Frank Knox Fellow) and JD/MPhil degrees from the University of Melbourne. Her PhD research examines the international law governing technology creation and distribution, focusing on historical transformations and climate crisis implications. She is a member of UCL’s Institute for Brand and Innovation Law and Centre for Law and Environment. Key roles include Assistant Editor at the London Review of International Law (since 2023), co-convenor of the Law Teachers’ Programme (2023–24), and founder of the Feminist Law Collective.
Her research interests span international law, property theory, climate law, and the intersection of legal systems with capitalism and technology. Recent work includes publications on post-war constitutionalism, Cold War legal dynamics, and technological diplomacy. She has held teaching roles at UCL and Melbourne Law School, focusing on property law and legal theory. Academic awards include the AHRC London Arts and Humanities Partnership Research Studentship and the Modern Law Review Scholarship.
Professional activities include invitations to global workshops and presentations on topics like patent law’s role in climate transitions and legal histories of technology. Her work bridges historical legal analysis with contemporary challenges, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to international law’s evolution.
