Anna Madar

Anna Madar is a Lecturer in the Department of Allied Health Professions and Dental Practice/SIM within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care at Canterbury Christ Church University. She concurrently serves as a clinical specialist sonographer at a large North London NHS Trust, performing obstetric, gynaecological, and general medical ultrasound examinations while managing departmental ultrasound equipment.

Her research focuses on obstetric imaging and quality assurance in ultrasound, with significant contributions to safety standards through the British Medical Ultrasound Society Physics and Safety Committee. She actively investigates AI integration in ultrasound practice and previously advised the Society of Radiographers' Ultrasound Advisory Group on clinical guidance for public bodies like NICE.

As module lead for Principles of Science and Technology in Medical Ultrasound on the PGCert Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course, she bridges academic instruction with frontline clinical expertise. Her work ensures educational content reflects current technological standards and safety protocols in medical imaging.

Anna leads ultrasound equipment management at her NHS Trust, overseeing quality assurance testing and installations. Her committee roles in professional societies directly shape national ultrasound safety guidelines and emerging AI applications in diagnostic imaging.
